Visit Assateague Island
Assateague is a beautifully preserved natural eco-center. Technically speaking, it's a 37 mile long natural barrier island. Much of it is protected park land. The public can access a one-mile section of it for recreational and ecological enjoyment. If you're lucky, you'll see some of the wild ponies and special birds that call the island home.

Ideas, Notes, & Tips
Seeing a wild pony or two is quite special. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does - it's truly magical. Just be careful. They really are wild...and they weigh a lot...and that combination can be dangerous. Good luck with your sighting!
