Visit the Life-Saving Station
The life-saving station is filled with marvels of engineering and design. Apparently, life-saving was done from the shore out to the ship...with an elaborate pulley system! This particular station has a replica of the system and the devices used to save the lives of seamen in peril. Be sure to ask about the involvement of women in this era. We've come a long way as a society, that's for sure!

Ideas, Notes, & Tips
Be sure to walk around the life saving station to see the giant wheel that people literally walked inside of (like hamsters) to make it work.
If you're there on a good weather day, there's a great playground and a little league field right there too.
