Visit a Weather Station
The Delaware Environmental Observing System has over 50 monitoring devise locations across the state. There are lots of local stations - 4 in Lewes, 1 on the Rehoboth Boardwalk, 1 in Millsboro/Longneck, 1 in Primehook, and 2 in Bethany. These stations measure all sorts of data - wind speed, wind gusts, rainfall amounts, temperature, etc. Great topics for young STEM minds to ponder.
Univ. of DE Remote Weather Station (Boardwalk)
Located on the boardwalk between Lake Ave and Grenoble Place - at the north end of the boardwalk, just one street south of the Henlopen Hotel
There's usually good parking on Lake Avenue near the Henlopen Hotel.

Ideas, Notes, & Tips
The weather station is pretty neat - especially if you look at all the data it collects. However, we know kids tier easily. It just so happens that there's a toy store 1/2 a block from the weather station.
