STEM Connection
Fishing is just as much about the techniques involved in actually catching a fish as it is in observing the natural surroundings while you wait for a bite. Observation skills are fundamental skills required for any STEM career. The more you hone them, the better you'll be as a future STEM-tician.

Ideas, Notes, & Tips
Generally speaking, if you're over 16, you need a license. Sizes vary by type of fish. Ask the bait shop if they have a current ruler for fish sizes allowed. It's a fun take-away for the kids...and it's a great STEM lesson all by itself.
